COVID-19 active case count in Fort McMurray down to single digits

Alberta reported six recoveries of COVID-19 in the RMWB in the last 24 hours.

All six were in Fort McMurray, which has seven active cases and 68 recovered cases of the illness.

That’s the lowest number of active cases in Fort McMurray since Aug. 4, 2020.

Numbers outside the urban service area remain unchanged for the second straight day at seven and 53, respectively.

Across Alberta, the province reported 76 new cases and three additional deaths linked to COVID-19, with 81 recoveries.

One of the three deaths occurred at Edmonton’s Good Samaritan Southgate.

To date, 29 residents of the care centre passed away due to COVID-19.

Hospitalization remains low with 50 Albertans in hospital, including 12 in intensive care.

Alberta has 1036 active cases, 220 deaths, and 10,713 recovered cases of COVID-19.

To date, health officials tested 647,281 Albertans or about one in seven.
