Fort McMurray motorcyclist killed northeast of Edmonton

A 46-year-old woman from Fort McMurray has died following a single-vehicle motorcycle collision south of Boyle.

On Aug. 22 at 2:50 p.m., Smoky Lake RCMP and emergency medical services (EMS) responded to Hwy. 831 north of the North Saskatchewan River near Victoria Trail.

First responders attended to the 46-year-old female motorcyclist at the scene.

EMS transported her to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

According to a preliminary investigation, RCMP reported the motorcyclist headed northbound on Hwy. 831 when she lost control and struck a guard rail.

Smoky Lake RCMP continues to investigate, but will not release the name of the deceased.
