Hailing from Fort McMurray, Voigt is a former AWG athlete who participated in the Olympic Games in 2018.

Kim Rizzi, General Manager of the 2022 Games, said Voigt already serves as an amazing ambassador for the region.

“Brooke is a prime example of dedication to sport and athletic excellence making her a wonderful role model for AWG athletes and all youth of the circumpolar north. This partnership showcases our pride in Brooke and the strength of the Arctic Winter Games legacy as we prepare to shine together.”

Voigt’s role includes participating in marketing and public engagement campaigns in support of the Games and encourage participants.

At 16 years old, Voigt competed in her first World Cup slopestyle event, winning a silver medal in Calgary in January 2010.

She reached the podium in other events before finishing in the top-10 at the FIS World Junior Championships in 2012.

Making her professional debut in 2013, Voigt since reached the podium in several snowboarding events.

She said she looks forward to meeting new young faces at the 2022 AWG.

“The Games were a significant stepping stone for me in the beginning of my career and I hope that’s the case for many athletes to come. It means a lot to me to be partnering with an event that helped me develop my passion for competition.”

The 2022 Arctic Winter Games run from March 6-12, 2022.
