Deferred utility payments to RMWB due August 31

The Municipality reminds residents deferred utility payments are due Aug. 31, 2020.

The deferral covers the period between March and July of this year.

The RMWB will apply late penalties to outstanding balances on Sept. 1, 2020.

It calculates penalties monthly at 1.5 per cent of the balance of the account.

There are several ways residents can pay their utility bills:

  • Pay online by credit card on the Municipality’s website.
  • Pay online through your financial institution using “Wood Buffalo Water” or “Wood Buffalo Utilities” as the payee.
  • Residents may pay in person at the Timberlea Landing Cashiers’ Office located at 309 Powder Drive, Fort McMurray.
  • Pre-authorized payment from a credit card or chequing account.
  • Mail a cheque to “RMWB Utility Billing”, 9909 Franklin Avenue, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 2K4

 

RMWB Council voted to defer utility payments at their March 24 meeting.

Residential and commercial utility services could take advantage of the deferral

The RMWB charges utility fees for distribution, collection and treatment of solid waste, water, and sanitary sewage.
