Northern Lights Health Foundation receives $25K donation from ConocoPhillips

ConocoPhillips has joined the fight against COVID-19 during a time when donations are down and needs are rising.

The company made a $25,000 donation to the Northern Lights Health Foundation’s (NLHF) Greatest Need Campaign.

Lorna Ash, Director of Development with NLHF explained that the Greatest Need Campaign is a general account that is used for requests made by Alberta Health Services (AHS).

“Just having that urgent fund available means we can act quicker at the time.”

She added that Public Health has had to provide more services and programs in rural communities due the pandemic.

It has also been looking into how mental health has been affected.

Ash added that COVID-19 has impacted the foundation since funds are usually raised through community events.

“2020 has really opened the eyes of many people of knowing that healthcare really is for everybody and what we’re facing ahead we don’t know.”

The funds will be used at the discretion of the Health Foundation Board of Directors for approved AHS COVID-19 response programs and to support emergent needs at the hospital.
