Alberta reported one death of COVID-19 in Fort McMurray, along with 40 new cases and seven recoveries in the last four days.
They are one of five Albertans who passed away from the virus during the September long weekend.
That is the most reported new cases of COVID-19 in Fort McMurray over a four-day period since the start of the pandemic.
There are 66 active cases and 100 recovered cases of the illness within the urban service area.

The province also reported one new case outside the urban service area for totals of two active cases and 60 resolved cases of COVID-19.

Provincial response
Across Alberta, there are 619 new cases, five deaths, and 355 recovered cases of COVID-19 in the last 96 hours.
On Sept. 4, the province reported 154 new cases, 171 new cases on Sept. 5, 137 on Sept. 6, and 157 on Sept. 7.
The province has 1692 active cases, which is the most since May 9.
Alberta also reports 247 deaths, and 13,154 resolved cases of the illness.
Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, spoke on the Support Our Students Alberta website, which to date reports more than 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Alberta schools.
Hinshaw says we are seeing a higher percentage of new cases that are close contacts to known cases.

Hinshaw said the province will consider a COVID-19 reporting website for schools.
She also confirmed a slow increase in community transmission.
Deputy education minister Andre Corbould says he’s been in contact with several superintendents, is closely monitoring situations.

45 Albertans are currently in hospital receiving treatment, including 10 in intensive care.
To date, Alberta health officials conducted a total of 1,052,446 tests.
