Keyano College and Women Building Futures have teamed up to offer more skills training for women in the region.

The partnership brings two new programs to Keyano College’s Suncor Energy Industrial Campus for 2020-2021.

One program is Driver & Operator Training, which prepares students to get a Class 3 license to operate equipment like hydrovacs and snow ploughs.

The second program is the Journeywoman Start program, which provides introductory training to various construction trades.

Director of Stakeholder & Government Relations Jess Thomson said that the programs have been successful in the Edmonton area.

Both programs include classroom and hands-on learning to provide the skills required by industry employers in the region and to improve employability potential.

Women can apply to either program and find more information here.
