Alberta reports eight new cases and another nine recoveries of COVID-19 in Fort McMurray in the last 24 hours.
As many as 27 residents in the RMWB recovered from the illness in the last three days, despite 17 new cases in that timespan.

The province reported 41 new cases, seven recoveries, and one death in the region on Sept. 8.
In the urban service area, there are 54 active cases, one death, and 127 recovered cases of the infection.

Outside the urban service area, there are still four active cases and 58 recovered cases.
Across the province, there are 111 active cases, one death, and 161 recovered cases of COVID-19.
Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said one previously recorded death did not pass away from the disease.
The province has 1444 active cases, 253 deaths, and 13,718 resolved cases of the illness.
Hinshaw also provided an update on schools as well as singing, instruments, and dancing.
School update:
29 schools where an individual attended while infectious.
So far, 32 cases are linked to these schools.

Hinshaw said the province has yet to see cases of re-infection, unlike other places in Canada and the world.
RMWB Council will debate a bylaw on masking in public spaces on Sept. 14.

43 Albertans are currently in hospital, including six in intensive care.
To date, health officials conducted 1,084,670 tests.
