Dianna de Sousa appointed Executive Director for YMM Chamber

The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce has a new Executive Director.

Board Chair Tom Gear announced the Board of Directors appointed Dianna de Sousa.

He said de Sousa has a wealth of international experience and innovative ideas.

“Dianna is a senior leader with proven leadership experience across multiple industries including Hospitality, Telecommunications, Food Manufacturing and Construction, working across geographic locations including Europe, the Caribbean and North America.”

De Sousa has an extensive resume in sales and marketing.

Gear noted she also sought to improve customer and employee satisfaction in the following roles:

  • Corporate Store Leader at Bell
  • Guest Services Leader at the Fairmont Empress
  • General Manager and Director of Solidity Limited
  • Acting CEO, Executive Vice President of Sales Service and Operations, Vice President of Customer Service and Marketing at the Telecommunications Service of Trinidad and Tobago.

“She is a leader who takes a vision and makes it a reality through sound strategy development while bringing a deep knowledge of business functions including Process, Operations, Customer Service & Service Delivery Management, Project Management, Strategic and Business Planning, Marketing, Public Relations and Media Management.”

Along with an Honours B.Sc. degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of the West Indies, she has an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School.

De Sousa is also a board member of the Rotary Club of Fort McMurray, and Rotarian of more than three years.

Cameron Spring, Chair of the Human Resources Committee, said he looks forward to the next chapter of the organization.

“We believe we have found someone who will be instrumental in carrying forward the mission of our organization, creating a thriving and sustainable business community.”

De Sousa will officially assume the role of Executive Director on Sept. 14, 2020.
