Infinity Métis Corporation (IMC) has named a new General Manager.
Shawn Myers, who has most recently been Program Manager for the McMurray Métis 2020 Summer Student Program, was announced as General Manager on Oct. 7.
Originally from Sackville, New Brunswick, Myers moved to Fort McMurray in 1980.
After moving to Fort McMurray, Myers continued his education where he developed his engineering background.
He has worked with Suncor Energy, TransAlta Energy and Petro-Canada.
Myers said he is looking forward to working with IMC’s current business partners while developing and securing new ones.
“I am thrilled to be leading an organization that has a vision to support the McMurray Métis’ community, business, and social well being.”
IMC is a locally owned and operated Métis company that provides a competitive advantage for partnerships and McMurray Métis owned businesses.
It aims to lead the way in securing business opportunities while maintaining the principles of environmental and sustainability, along with the promotion of Métis heritage within the region.
