RCMP arrest suspect connected to robbery in Timberlea

Police arrested a 27-year-old woman suspected of robbing a Timberlea business earlier that week.

On Oct. 6, 2020, Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of a robbery with the indication of a firearm at a business on Millenium Drive between Powder Drive and Confederation Way.

The adult female suspect entered the business demanding money and indicating to the clerk she had a firearm.

Once the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the area.

There were no injuries.

RCMP responded but was unable to find the suspect at that time.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage, police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Victoria Fionna Lynn Hayner of Fort McMurray.

RCMP obtained a warrant and arrested Hayner on Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. charging her with robbery with a firearm, using a forged document, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Hayner remains in custody pending a court date.
