Our region received the Municipal World WinterLife Award at the virtual showcase and awards ceremony on Oct. 8.

Greg Bennett, Strategist with RMWB Communications and Stakeholder Relations, said the Municipality is proud to accept the award.

“This award recognizes the efforts of staff, Council appointed committees, community organizations and countless volunteers in creating initiatives that engage the community with indoor and outdoor activities from November through March.”

Events held during the winter in Wood Buffalo include Mayor and Council’s Holly Jolly Christmas Party, Santa Claus Parade, Christmas Lights Bus Tour, Santa’s Anonymous, Craze at MacDonald Island Park on New Year’s Eve and WinterPLAY

“Community pride is strong in the Wood Buffalo region, and this award is a testament to the hard work that goes into bringing our great community together.”
