The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is giving you the chance to win $500 of Fort McMurray Bucks.
The Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Community Futures Wood Buffalo and Startup YMM to celebrate Small Business Week from Oct. 18-24.
During the week you can share stories about your favourite local shops on Facebook and Twitter using #WBSmallBusinessWeek and tagging @YMMChamber and the business you are writing about.
Each story, on each social media platform, will count for one contest entry.
Director of Entrepreneurship & Innovation for Wood Buffalo Economic Development Corporation Natasha Hartson explained the importance of small businesses.
“Small businesses are fundamental to our everyday as they offer us places to be social and active, and provide us with experiences, products and services”
This year’s theme is Forging the Way Forward.
The theme recognizes the challenges businesses are facing and also pays tribute to the small businesses that contribute to our community.
A draw will be made on Facebook Live on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. to announce the winner.
Fort McMurray Bucks can be spent at participating businesses.
