Indigenous entrepreneurs now have an exclusive lease opportunity through the Syncrude Incubator Offices.
The Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA) said the two fully furnished, professional office spaces were made possible through a sponsorship donation from Syncrude.
Executive Director for NAABA Michelle Toner said the offices were designed to give Indigenous entrepreneurs a cost effective and supportive workspace to help establish a start-up or grow their existing business.
“The Syncrude Incubator Offices are an additional mechanism of support that will help steward mentorship and networking opportunity through increased access to our more experienced business owners.”
Located within the NAABA building at 9917 Biggs Ave., the space is part of an initiative that supports the association’s commitment to the development and growth of Indigenous business in Wood Buffalo.
Syncrude’s Manager of Community Relations, Cliff Dimm said the company hopes that the incubator offices will help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into solid ventures.
“Syncrude wants to ensure local Indigenous people share in the opportunities created in the oil sands, which includes partnering with businesses that support the region,”

The spaces are currently being rented for the short-term.
Earlier in October the association announced the opening of the Suncor Community Enterprise Centre.
The centre is a collaborative networking space used to promote and grow Indigenous business in Wood Buffalo.
