Release date for proposed 2021 Municipal Budget announced

Join the Mayor and Councillors as they review the proposed 2021 Municipal Budget.

The Municipality scheduled a series of virtual meetings held over a three-day period starting on Dec. 1, 2020.

Residents may review the Budget Primer for strategic priorities and details.

The meetings begin with the Community Investment Program on Dec. 1, Operating Budget on Dec. 2, and Capital Budget on Dec. 3.

RMWB Council will hold any additional budget meetings, if required, on Dec. 4.

A live stream of the budget meeting is available on the Municipality’s website.

Public participation

Residents may participate in the 2021 Budget meetings as a delegate.

The Municpality released the following on the delegation process.

  • Community members have an opportunity to make a five-minute verbal presentation to Council during a 30-minute delegation session at the beginning of each budget meeting and during the Community Investment Program grant meeting following the administrative presentations for each specific grant stream.
  • Anyone wishing to speak via teleconference must register as a delegate for the budget meeting most relevant to their presentation and before the day of the meeting.

 

Contact Legislative Services online or call 780-743-7001 to register as a delegate.

After registering, they will provide details on how to participate in the teleconference.

Submit any relevant written submissions with a name included for the record to Legislative Services at least one day before the Budget meeting.

The release date of the complete proposed 2021 Municipal Budget and supporting documents is Nov. 20, 2020, and after the release of the Council Agenda.
