The Wood Buffalo 2022 Arctic Winter Games Merchandise Store is ready to offer a new online feature.

‘Click and Collect’ allows buyers to shop online and pick up their items from the downtown store on Franklin Ave.

Kim Rizzi, General Manager for the 2022 AWG said the feature will support public safety and reduce in-store interactions while preparing for the Holiday shopping season.

“We want to provide the public with options to shop safely and confidently, whether using our new Click and Collect service or shopping in-store this holiday season. This new online service will further enhance in-store safety by minimizing customers’ time within the physical location while providing access to our full line-up of Games wear and accessories.”

The Merchandise Store had its soft opening in October.

Through its online store, buyers using the code BF15 can get a 15 per cent discount for Black Friday from Nov. 26-28.

The Wood Buffalo 2022 Arctic Winter Games Host Society recognized River’s Edge Community Resort for its value-in-kind donation of the Merchandise Store retail space.

“Our region is full of amazing community supporters and we are grateful for the continued collaboration of partners, stakeholders and sponsors who make the Games possible. We are excited to have our Merchandise Store and Games Operations Centre conveniently located in Downtown Fort McMurray so we can align our initiatives with the region’s vision of downtown revitalization.”

The store currently features loungewear in unisex sizing for adults and youth and colourful accessories.

Co-chair of the 2022 AWG Host Society Board of Directors, Melissa Blake said merchandise and souvenirs are key components to the Games.

“As a Host Society, we are excited to provide participants, visitors and residents with memorabilia that reflects the life-time of memories the Games will create for our community and across the Circumpolar North.”

Buyers who place an order on the online shop will receive a confirmation email when their items are ready for pick up.

Online store shipping will launch in 2021.

Visitors to the Franklin Ave. store between Wednesday and Saturday from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. must wear a face covering.

Merchandise will remain available between now and the Games, which runs from March 6-12, 2022.
