Transit Services temporarily cancels school special routes

Transit Services has temporarily cancelled all school special routes.

The decision was made as students in grades 7 to 12 transition to distance learning as of Nov. 30.

School specials will resume when in-person learning returns on Jan. 11, 2021.

Students are transitioning to distance learning as the Government of Alberta declared a state of public health emergency on Nov. 24.

A part of that declaration was the announcement of additional measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including the stoppage of in-person learning for some students and limits on private and public social gatherings.

Regular transit will continue as usual and face coverings are mandatory under the Face Covering Bylaw, which was re-instated on Nov. 26 for an additional 30 days.
