EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Alberta has confirmed 776 new cases and 13 additional deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Additionally, nine more cases have been added to the total after corrections over the past few days.

There are now 12,189 active cases within the province, 796 of which are in hospital and 124 in ICU.

Of the 13 deaths, six were from the Calgary Zone, five were from the Edmonton Zone, one was from the Central Zone and one was from the North Zone.

The dates of the deaths were from Nov. 16 to Jan. 14 with all 13 showing additional health issues.

A total of 1,402 Albertans have died with COVID-19 being a contributing factor.

Health Minster Tyler Shandro says the province has administered more than 74,000 COVID-19 vaccines.

However, Canada is set to receive fewer Pfizer vaccines than previously thought.

That means there will be a delay in vaccination of priority workers in Phase 1 and plans to immunize seniors over the age of 75.
