EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – The Alberta NDP’s attempt to request the energy minister answer questions about coal mining was shut down.
The Standing Committee on Public Accounts was scheduled to meet Tuesday morning with the NDP calling for Sonya Savage to be brought forward for questioning.
However, the UCP used its majority to adjourn the meeting as soon as it started.
The meeting only lasted about 10 minutes before it was brought to an early end.
These are the members of the committee. All 8 UCP MLAs voted for adjournment, and it was first introduced by MLA Reid. No reason was given for why he called the adjournment. The next meeting of this group will be on Apr. 6. pic.twitter.com/gVwyUelG6O
