FORT MCMURRAY (660NEWS)  Theatre; Just Because, a local theatre company is back in business after being shut down for over a year due to the global pandemic.

Artistic Director Hanna Fridhed said this year will look a little different because they have to be open to new ideas and be creative and flexible in their approach.

Fridhed tells Rogers that Alberta Health Services (AHS) has asked the theatre company to wear masks and maintain a three meter distance while actors are on the stage.

Presently, the company is not allowed to have a live audience during performances, but Fridhed is hoping that will change when production begins in July.

In-person auditions for the play “Purge” happen April 23 and 24 with callbacks scheduled for April 25.

You can also submit a video audition up until April 22 but you must be over the age of 16 because of mature themes and language in the play.

There is also a stage management mentorship program for those over the age of 16.
