FORT MCMURRAY (660 NEWS) – Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating after human remains were found in Fort McMurray.
According to a news release, the remains were found in a wooded area near Silin Forest Road and Thickett Drive shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 20.
The identity of the deceased is unknown at this time and an autopsy is scheduled to take place at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton on Wednesday, March 24.
More information is expected to be provided when available as Wood Buffalo RCMP say the investigation is still in the early stages.
