EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — Just one day after the province shifted all students in Calgary from grades 7 to 12 to online learning come Monday, Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced some more measures for youth in Calgary.
Starting Monday, all extracurricular youth sport, recreational or performance activity within Calgary must take place outdoors or be put on pause.

“We know this may be disruptive to families, however, by shifting these activities outdoors, they can continue in a lower risk setting,” said Hinshaw.
She adds the province’s website will be updated to reflect this information.
“The best thing we can all do to reduce cases in schools and all other settings is to stop this virus from spreading in our communities.
Currently, there are active alerts or outbreaks in 478 schools in the province, representing about 20 per cent of all schools in Alberta.
