Don’t miss your chance to share feedback on Winter Maintenance Zones

The end-of-season WMZ survey closes this Friday, April 23!

Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts on what has been working well and the challenges with the Winter Maintenance Zone (WMZ) program. Share feedback by completing a short, end-of-season survey and joining the online discussion forum on Participate Wood Buffalo.

“Spring is here and it may be hard to think about snow right now, but planning for next WMZ season has already begun”, said Keith Smith, Director, Public Works. “Snow plowing and removal on residential streets keeps our community moving in the winter. By taking 5 minutes to fill out the WMZ survey, our team will be able to use this feedback to strengthen and refine the WMZ program ahead of next season.”

Feedback being collected until April 23

The WMZ survey and online discussions forums are open until 11:59 p.m., Friday, April 23. All feedback collected will be thoroughly reviewed and used to guide any future changes to the WMZ program.

Online discussion forums

In addition to the WMZ survey, there are various online discussions forums on Participate Wood Buffalo where residents can share their thoughts in more detail on specific topics related to the WMZ program.

The WMZ program was introduced to residents six years ago. From October 15 to April 15, the WMZ program operates on residential streets in Fort McMurray to ensure they remain safe and accessible throughout the winter.
