Kids will no longer need a Dr.’s note to be eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

EDMONTON – Parents wishing to get the COVID-19 vaccine for their kids will no longer need to make a trip to their family doctor to get a note ahead of time.

Previously under Alberta’s Phase 2B of vaccine rollout, kids needed a note from their doctor allowing them to be inoculated.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, tweeted over the weekend saying that will no longer be necessary.

She says the decision came after feedback from parents and pediatricians.

Hinshaw added that the decision of whether to vaccinate kids remains up to their parents.
