FORT MCMURRAY (660 NEWS) – Members of the Fort McMurray Construction Association (FMCA) heard from Maxime Bernier this week during a virtual town hall where several topics were discussed.

On Wednesday, the leader of the People’s Party of Canada spoke on business stimulus, infrastructure spending, the COVID-19 pandemic, and pipelines.

“Changing our tax system by not spending money that we don’t have but we spend on national and infrastructure programs like pipelines. We are the only political party in this country that will use the Constitution, section 92-10 to build a real national pipeline all across the country.”

Bernier pledged to build pipelines by using the constitution if his party were to lead the country.

“So that would be important for Western Canada but also for the country. The oil and gas industry is an important industry in our country and we need to promote that. Participation of the oil and gas industry in our GDP is very important for Alberta for Ontario and Quebec and other provinces,” added Bernier.
