Alberta reports 165 new COVID cases, administers 45K vaccine doses

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — New cases of COVID-19 dropped again in Alberta following the latest update from AHS.

On Sunday, Alberta reported 165 new cases on 5,799 tests for a positivity rate of 2.8 per cent.

There are 272 Albertans in hospital, a decrease of 18 from the previous 24-hour period. Of those, 75 are in intensive care, down one.

The province also reported one additional death due to the virus.

There are 3,180 active cases of the virus throughout Alberta.

Meanwhile 45,705 new vaccine doses were administered, one day after the province announced a new lottery as an incentive to curb vaccine hesitancy.
