Fraction of a per cent of Albertans need to be vaccinated to reach Stage 3 reopening threshold

EDMONTON – The province is a fraction away from being able to announce moving into phase three of relaunch.

Just over a quarter of a per cent–0.26 per cent–of Albertans who can get the first shot still need to get it before Alberta can move forward with fully reopening.

In other words, 69.74 per cent of Albertans who can get the first dose have already been jabbed.

It would be the first time in over 14 months that the province would be fully reopened with no restrictions.

And we’re projected to fill bridge that gap soon–if the last 0.26 per cent gets vaccinated by the end of the day Thursday, we’ll be fully reopened by Canada day.

Stage three has no restrictions except for some protective measures at retirement homes and mandatory isolation for people who’ve tested positive for COVID-19.
