Alberta hits another vaccine milestone, COVID-19 cases continue to decline

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Alberta’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout has hit another milestone after administering more than four million doses.

Seventy-one point three per cent of eligible Albertans have received at least one dose, while 34.3 per cent are fully immunized.

The province released preliminary COVID-19 numbers on Friday due to technical problems.

In a series of tweets, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw confirmed about 100 new cases of the virus on 6,100 tests.

The provincial positivity rate is currently at one point seven per cent.

There 1,500 active cases of COVID-19 throughout the province.

No information about COVID-19 related deaths was released as well as people in the hospital and ICU.
