Alberta identifies lowest daily COVID-19 case count in nearly a year
CALGARY — Alberta is reporting its lowest COVID-19 case count in nearly a year.
Over the last day, the province has identified just 31 new cases of the virus. The new cases come after the completion of just about 4,500 tests.
There are now 1,261 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

As of Monday afternoon, there are now 179 people in hospital, 39 of which are in the ICU.

There were an additional two deaths reported on Monday.

The province also provided updated case counts for the last few days after technical issues had Dr. Deena Hinshaw providing preliminary estimates for Alberta.
- June 24: 81 cases identified on 7,073 tests
- June 25: 64 cases identified on 6,083 tests
- June 26: 33 cases identified on 4,587 tests

As for vaccination data for Monday, the province is approaching 4.2 million vaccine doses administered.
Currently, 71.7 per cent of the province has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with 38.6 per cent of the eligible population having now been fully vaccinated.
No live update was held by the province on Monday, with Dr. Deena Hinshaw set to hold her last regularly scheduled update on Tuesday afternoon.
