Alberta identifies 76 new COVID-19 cases, active infections approach 1,000
CALGARY — Alberta identified 76 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The new cases come after the completion of 6,335 tests — a positivity rate of roughly 1.2 per cent.
The province is now approaching a milestone for active infections — with 1,055 active cases as of Wednesday afternoon.

Hospitalizations saw a slight decline, with 165 people now in hospital, and 34 in the ICU.

Vaccination numbers increased slightly over the last day, with more than 4.33 million vaccine doses now being administered to date.
As of Tuesday night, 72.8 per cent of the eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine — with 42.4 per cent now having received two doses.

With July 1 being a statutory holiday, Alberta Health says it will not be posting COVID-19 data, but will return on Friday with information for both days.
