Active COVID-19 infections drop to 895 in Alberta, 43 new cases reported Friday

CALGARY — Alberta has identified 43 new cases of COVID-19.

The province also released the updated numbers for Thursday, with 67 cases having been identified on June 30.

Active cases in the province continue to decline, with 895 active infections.

As for hospitalizations, there are now 144 people in hospital, a decrease of 21 from Wednesday’s data — as well as 33 people in the ICU.

One additional death was reported over the last two days.

Since Wednesday, 92,662 vaccines have been administered in Alberta — with 73.1 per cent of the eligible population having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Forty-four per cent of those 12 and older in Alberta are now fully immunized.

To date, more than 4.43 million vaccine doses have been administered.
