CALGARY – Anyone who was in western Canada during last week’s heatwave can attest to just how sweltering it was–but now there’s some more data looking at the record-breaking temps.

Environment Canada says 219 temperature records were set during last week’s heatwave.

In a brief recap posted on its Alberta Twitter feed, the weather agency said the June 25 to July 2 event also saw 19 locations in Alberta break their all-time high-temperature records.

Grande Prairie was the hottest spot in the province during the seven days of sweltering weather, as it recorded 41.5 degrees on June 29.

Calgary hit 36.3 degree’s twice during the heatwave and broke a temperature record for four straight days.
