Thirty-three new COVID-19 cases identified in Alberta on Tuesday

CALGARY — There were 33 new cases of COVID-19 identified in Alberta on Tuesday.

The new cases come after the completion of 4,415 tests — a positivity rate of roughly 0.7 per cent.

As for active cases, there are now 763 active infections in the province, a decrease of 68 from the day prior.

Hospitalization saw a slight increase on Tuesday, now at 138. ICU admissions held steady at 36.

Two additional deaths were reported.

There were nearly 50,000 vaccine doses administered over the last day, 3,755 of which were first-dose appointments.

To date, more than 4.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 73.5 per cent of the eligible population have received at least one dose of a vaccine, with 49.6 per cent now fully vaccianted.
