Alberta identifies 67 new COVID-19 cases, over 50% of eligible population now fully vaccinated
CALGARY — Alberta identified 67 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The new cases come after more than 6,000 tests were completed, giving the province a positivity rate of around 1.1 per cent.
Active cases continue to decrease, with 745 active infections in the province as of Wednesday afternoon.

As for hospitalizations, there are now 140 people in hospital fighting the virus, with 30 people in the ICU.

Two additional deaths were reported on Wednesday.

As for vaccination numbers, there were nearly 42,000 vaccine doses administered over the last day, 3,584 of which were first-dose appointments.
An exciting milestone for the province was hit over the last day, with 50.7 per cent of the eligible population now fully vaccinated with two doses.

To date, more than 4.67 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta.
