Alberta averages 30 COVID cases over weekend, no deaths in last week

CALGARY — The COVID-19 situation in Alberta continues to improve — with the province identifying an average of 30 cases a day over the weekend.

In updated numbers released on Monday, there were 31 cases identified on Saturday, 29 on Sunday, and 30 on Monday,

Another positive update coming from the province on Monday: no additional deaths reported.

The last time there was a death due to COVID-19 was on Monday, July 5.

As for hospitalizations, there are now 112 people in hospital, 34 of which are in the ICU.

There are now 624 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

To date, nearly 4.9 million vaccine doses have been administered in the province.

Of the 15,322 doses administered on Sunday, 1,917 were first-dose appointments.
