CALGARY — Alberta reported 817 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, as the active case count continues to rise in the province.
Nearly 10,000 tests were completed over the last day, with about 8.2 per cent coming back positive.
There are now 6,367 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

Of the active infections in Alberta, Calgary continues to lead the way with 1,557, while Edmonton is slowly catching up with 1,376.
Banff remains the leader in infections per capita, with 1,048 active cases per 100,000 people.
Hospitalizations saw another day of increasing numbers, with 198 people now in hospital, an increase of 14 from Wednesday.
Though ICU admissions did see a decrease on Thursday, with 43 people in the ICU, a drop of five from the day prior.

Of the 198 people currently in hospital, 162 are unvaccinated — while 40 of the 43 people in the ICU have also not received the shot.
Sticking with vaccines, the province administered 7,374 new doses of COVID-19 vaccine over the last day.
To date, 77.1 per cent of those 12 and older in Alberta have received at least one dose — while 68.3 per cent are fully vaccinated.
