Injured woman found along North Parsons overpass on ramp

FORT MCMURRAY (660 NEWS) – A 56-year-old woman is recovering from a suspected aggravated assault after she was found on the side of the road along the North Parsons overpass earlier this week.

Wood Buffalo RCMP officers responded Tuesday morning around 6:30 a.m. after the injured woman was found on the on ramp from Highway 63 northbound.

Mounties say the woman is from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and was taken to hospital by ambulance with undisclosed injuries.

The Wood Buffalo General Investigation Section has taken over the investigation and is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Specifically, they are asking residents to review dash cam or surveillance footage from the area the woman was found between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on August 31.

Those with information that might help the investigation are asked to call Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040.
