RCMP search for witnesses to assault of child in Red Deer

RED DEER — RCMP in Red Deer are looking to the public for assistance after a child was assaulted at a playground in the city.

On Sunday, Sept. 5 at around 5:45 p.m., police were called about a young boy who had been assaulted at the G.H. Dawe School playground.

The victim had been playing when an adult man came up to him and assaulted him.

The child was injured and EMS was dispatched.

The suspect is being described as tall and muscular, around 6’2″ tall, around 35 to 40 years old with yellow, red and green hair with a long beard.

At the time of the assault, the suspect was wearing dark pants, a black hoody, and yellow shoes. He is also said to have been riding a yellow-orange bike.
