CALGARY — More than 1,400 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Alberta over the last 24 hours.
The new cases come after nearly 12,000 tests were completed, for a positivity rate of around 12.1 per cent.
Of the new infections in the province, more than 71 per cent are unvaccinated.

Active infections saw a slight drop over the last day, with 18,365 active cases as of Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, there are now 822 people in hospital, an increase of 19 from Monday, while 212 people have been admitted to the ICU.
The ICU admissions reported on Tuesday are the highest the province has seen to date.
Of those currently in the ICU, 186 are unvaccinated, or about 88 per cent.
As for vaccinations, more than 8,600 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered over the last day, bringing total shots administered to more than 5.66 million.
Of the eligible population, 79.4 per cent have received at least one dose, while 71.3 per cent are fully vaccinated.
