CALGARY – Albertans will soon be able to print off a card with their COVID-19 vaccination records on it.
NEW: Proof of vaccination cards will be available for Albertans to print on Thursday.

The province announced that the proof of vaccination option for Albertans needing to show certification will be available on Sept. 16 through the MyHealth web page.

The UCP also says that the government is working on making proof of vaccination available to Albertans through a scannable QR code which will be available in the coming weeks.
The government recommends Albertans plan ahead and save their proof of vaccination card on their phone or print it out before the needed date.
Alberta’s government has repeatedly resisted calls to introduce a vaccine passport system, like other provinces have done, which would make them mandatory to access bars and restaurants, and other indoor settings.

Proof of vaccination is currently required and several of Alberta’s major universities and colleges, as well as at events like Flames, Oilers, and Stampeders games.
Some other businesses and employers are requiring their staff and patrons be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Albertans who plan to travel will also need the documentation.

Several medical experts, along with the Opposition NDP, have urged the government to implement a full on vaccine passport, with polls showing support for the pass growing amongst Albertans.
About 71 per cent of eligible Albertans are fully vaccinated.
