EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says the first order of business in working with the re-elected Liberals is getting through the fourth wave of COVID-19.

Kenney offered his congratulations to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Tuesday morning after the Canadians chose the Liberal Party to form another minority government.

“One key lesson of the COVID era is that we must expand the capacity of Canada’s health-care system,” he said in a statement.

“That’s why Alberta’s government has joined all of the provinces in calling for a significant increase in the Canada Health Transfer to reflect rising health-care costs.”

Second on the docket, Kenney says Alberta will continue to fight for a “fair deal”.

“Economic recovery must include all regions and all sectors of Canada’s economy. This is especially important for our energy sector, the country’s largest industrial sector,” Kenney said.
