FORT MCMURRAY (660 NEWS) – The municipal election is three weeks away and residents will have drive-thru voting options for the first time in RMWB history.

On Monday, October 4 and Tuesday, October 12, voters can drive-thru to cast their ballot without leaving their vehicles at either Centrefire Place or the Oilsands Discovery Centre.

Drive-thru voting will be offered between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Other advanced voting opportunities will take place from October 1-15 and the General Election is October 18.

There are three people vying for Mayor, who is elected at large. They are Mike Allen, Sandy Bowman, and Verna Murphy.

Councillors are elected under a ward system while school board trustees are elected at large.
