Alberta identified 531 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours.
The new case numbers come after more than 10,000 tests were completed, for a positivity rate of around 5.4 per cent.

Active infections in Alberta also continue to trend in the right direction.
Since Wednesday, the active case count in the province has dropped by nearly 350 cases, to 8,387.
That is the lowest active case count the province has seen since Aug. 24.
As for hospitalization numbers, the province saw declining numbers in that field as well.
There are now 779 people in hospital, a drop of 31 people from the day prior. Of those patients, 185 are in the ICU with COVID-19.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported on Thursday that 12 additional deaths have been reported to the province in the last day.

As of Thursday afternoon, more than 6.51 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta.
Of those 12 and older in the province, 86.8 per cent have received at least one dose, while 79.6 per cent are fully immunized.
