Active infections of COVID-19 saw a drop in Tuesday’s COVID-19 update for Alberta.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw held her only live update of the week on Tuesday, announcing 321 new cases of the virus in Alberta.

The new cases reported come after more than 6,400 tests, for a positivity rate of around 5.1 per cent.
There are now 5,565 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta — a drop of 263 cases from Monday.
As for hospitalization numbers, there are now 518 people in hospital, 101 of which are in the ICU.
“Sadly, I must announce that 13 new deaths have been reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours,” Hinshaw announced.
This now brings the total death tally from COVID-19 in Alberta to 3,201.
To date, more than 6.73 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta.
Of those 12 and older in the province, 87.9 per cent have received at least one dose, while 82.3 per cent are fully immunized.
