Active infections and hospitalization numbers continue to fall in Alberta as the province continues its recovery from the peak of the fourth wave of COVID-19.
On Thursday, the province identified 383 new cases of the virus on nearly 9,000 tests for a positivity rate of around 4.3 per cent.

There are now 5,384 active COVID infections in Alberta — a drop of 137 cases from Wednesday.
Case numbers aren’t the only metrics continuing to fall.
Hospitalization numbers have been steadily declining over the last several weeks, and on Thursday, passed another milestone.
There are now 498 people in hospital, 94 of which are in the ICU.
This is the first time the province has been below 500 hospitalizations since Sept. 1.

Alberta Health also reporting on Thursday, five more people have died with COVID-19 in the province.
As for vaccination numbers, more than 6.76 million doses of COVID-19 have been administered to date in Alberta.
Of those 12 and older, 88.2 per cent have received at least one dose, while 82.7 per cent are now fully immunized.
