FORT MCMURRAY – It’s the time of year once again when you may not mind getting a parking ticket.

The ‘Toys for Tickets’ campaign is back for its sixth year to help local families in need this holiday season.

If you get a Winter Maintenance Zone or time-parking ticket between December 1st and 15th, the municipality will donate fines paid by the 20th to a local Christmas hamper program.

“Everyone should have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season, which is why the Toys for Tickets campaign supports the Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program,” Deanne Bergey, Director, Community and Protective Services stated in a news release.

Since launching in 2016, the ‘Toys for Tickets’ program has donated more than $14,000 worth of toys to local families.
