The 1,150-kilometre pipeline that ships roughly 300,000 barrels of oil per day to terminals in British Columbia from Edmonton, has reopened.

Fuel is again flowing through the Trans Mountain pipeline after a three-week shutdown due to storms and flooding in Southern B.C. There were four major storms in that province during the month of November.

A spokesperson for Trans Mountain assured investors there’s no evidence of any serious damage to the pipeline, nor has there been any release of oil in the aftermath of the extreme weather.

Some repairs were needed after flooding exposed a few sections of the pipeline. The shutdown also resulted in gasoline shortages in southern British Columbia as people were asked to ration gas.

A Spokesperson for Trans Mountain says tbe company is now monitoring the pipeline on the ground, by air and through its control centre.
