Flair Airlines announces direct flights from YMM to Tucson, Arizona

FORT MCMURRAY – Fort McMurray residents will be able to escape the winter blues with direct flights to Arizona.

Flair Airlines has announced flights from Fort McMurray International Airport to Tucson starting at the end of November.

The direct, four-hour flights will run Sundays and Wednesdays until mid-March.

“We are pleased to welcome back Flair Airlines to YMM,” said President & CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority, RJ Steenstra.

“This announcement is one we’re extremely excited about and are confident the community will be too. We are committed to further developing YMM air service offerings, not only for our residents to enjoy, but to attract tourists to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, supporting our regional economy and job creation.”

Kevin Weidlich, President and CEO of Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development & Tourism agreed that increased air service will help attract visitors, talent and investment to the region.

“More flights mean more movements of goods, people, ideas and business, connecting our economy to more markets,” he said.
