RCMP investigating armed robbery of Fort McMurray liquor store

FORT MCMURRAY – Wood Buffalo RCMP is investigating the armed robbery of a Fort McMurray liquor store.

Mounties say it happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. the morning of March 25 in Thickwood.

A suspect entered the store, grabbed about $50 worth of liquor, and made their way toward the door.

When confronted by a staff member, police say the suspect pulled out a pocket knife.

No one was hurt and the suspect took off on foot toward Thickwood Boulevard.

Wood Buffalo RCMP provided surveillance photos and the following description:

  • Male with a light complexion
  • Wearing black sunglasses
  • Wearing a black jacket with hood up
  • Carrying a dark coloured “Reebok” backpack
