Three youths charged in apparent targeted attack in downtown Fort McMurray

Wood Buffalo RCMP have charged three youths in connection to a stabbing that police determined to be a targeted attack.

On Apr. 21, 2022, at 5 a.m., officers responded to a complaint in downtown Fort McMurray and found a man suffering serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.

RCMP, with help from Police Dog Services, tracked down and arrested three teenage boys ranging from 15 to 17 years of age.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the suspects will not be disclosed.

All three face charges of robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

Investigators ruled this was not a random attack, and all individuals were known to each other.
